Cory Hammon is a Senior Software Engineer at WGU Labs, where he builds prototype and pilot software to test and validate new ideas. His work focuses on assessing technical feasibility and exploring innovative solutions using artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. Through rapid experimentation and iterative development, Cory helps translate emerging concepts into practical, scalable systems that support research and product innovation at Labs.
Prior to joining WGU Labs, Cory spent eight years at Magnite, Inc., where he served as a Software Engineering Manager. In that role, he led teams building and operating internet-scale software systems that processed terabytes of data per day, gaining deep experience in distributed systems, data pipelines, and technical leadership in high-throughput production environments.
Cory earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. His professional interests include applied AI, system architecture, and the responsible evaluation of new technologies in real-world educational and research contexts.
